Religious Freedom Legislation(Anchor script I wrote for KNWA)

WHILE RELIGIOUS FREEDOM LEGISLATION IS MAKING HEADLINES ACROSS THE COUNTRY, ARKANSAS HAS HAD ONE IN PLACE FOR A FULL YEAR THIS MONTH WITH LESS BACKLASH.

ARKANSAS'S RELIGIOUS FREEDOM RESTORATION ACT... SIGNED INTO LAW BY GOVERNOR HUTCHINSON... GIVES BUSINESSES THE ABILITY TO DENY THEIR SERVICES TO SOMEONE - BASED THEIR RELIGIOUS BELIEFS.

BUT UNLIKE OTHER STATES'... ARKANSAS'S RFRA DOES NOT SPECIFICALLY MENTION GENDER IDENTITY.

AND WHILE OTHER STATES HAVE SEEN BACKLASH FROM COMPANIES THREATENING TO STOP BUSINESS IF THEY ENACT THEIR BILLS -- ARKANSAS' FAMILY COUNCIL SAYS THEY HAVEN'T SEEN THAT HAPPEN HERE TO THE SAME EXTENT.
